Item 13

The Birmingham City Council approved a transfer of $475,000 of available funds to repaving Hanover Circle in the Highland Park neighborhood.

Items 14, 22, and 23

The City Council accepted two grants for the Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service. One for $10,000 from the Financial Services Company, the Hartford, for fire safety programming (Item 14) and a FEMA grant for $1,624,710 for firefighter equipment upgrades (Item 22) The City will also match $147,700.91 for that grant (Item 23).

Item 20

The Birmingham City Council approved a transfer of $11,993.33 of available funds for repairs at Harris Pool at McMahon Park in the Fairview neighborhood. The funding comes from leftover money from a completed project in Central Park, and will go toward a study to assess the work needed to be done to completely fix the issues at Harris Pool.

Item 25

The Birmingham City Council approved $14,640 for a professional survey of Duke Park and Dorothy Spears Park in the East Thomas neighborhood, to study whether the parks can be combined to increase the size and available amenities. The East Thomas neighborhood hopes that the combined parks could be used as a practice park for World Games teams.
