Council President Wardine Alexander graduates from Leadership Birmingham’s Class of 2023
Please join us in congratulating Birmingham City Council President Wardine Alexander for her participation and subsequent graduation from this year’s Leadership Birmingham cohort.
Leadership Birmingham is designed to identify and cultivate emerging leaders from various sectors of the community, such as business, government, education, and nonprofit organizations. The program aims to enhance the participants’ understanding of the region’s challenges and opportunities while fostering collaboration and building relationships among its diverse leaders.
Leadership Birmingham offers a yearlong program that includes seminars, workshops, retreats, and community service projects. Participants engage in discussions about local issues, community initiatives, and leadership best practices, with the goal of empowering them to become more effective and involved leaders in the Birmingham area.
“It is an honor to be able to represent my constituents and the city of Birmingham through an organization like this,” Alexander said. “My colleagues in the Leadership Birmingham class of 2023 and I have been able to network, build relationships, and map out plans to implement some of the strategies we’ve discussed. By connecting with such a diverse group of people from all walks of life in our city and region, it puts us in a better position to address issues surrounding workforce development opportunities, holistic strategies to tackle homelessness and increasing broadband access in our city, among other things issues that impact the quality of life in Birmingham. It’s been an honor of a lifetime to be included in this class of amazing individuals.”
